A Message from CDHA President Daphne von Essen, RDH
Welcome to the California Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA): the voice of dental hygiene. We are the organization that truly represents you the dental hygienist; be it clinician, educator, businessperson, RDHAP, RDHEF, or researcher. We are so proud to be representing the dental hygienist in all the aspects and endeavors of the profession. It is a privilege and honor to represent you as the President of this fine organization for 2009-2010. We now look forward to an active and autonomous CA Dental Hygiene Committee (CDHC). This new committee promotes access to care and quality dental hygiene services. Appointments are pending. The Western Regional Examination Board (WREB) (AB403) has passed. This will allow increased portability of licensure, making it easier to get your license in another state.
My theme this year is “Rise and Shine”. We rise up! We as individuals are diverse but together we form a strong group. We are called to elevate CDHA to new heights of success with the unity of common goals. This organization is about personal growth, networking, friendship, and integrity. Shine Brightly! We are the only organization that watches out for the dental hygiene profession. We are on a journey to control our own destiny and CDHA will continue to shine as a beacon as advocates for the underserved to have full access to dental hygiene services. This year shine in your hearts, in your organization, in your life, and let your smile light the way to a brighter future. This year, “Rise and Shine”. Each of us has a special skill or focus that we work toward for a better future, for humanity. This year, mentor a new member, join your local component, and help with a public health project. This year “Rise and Shine” as you awaken each day. Let us think the impossible each morning and enable our organization to grow and envision common dreams and goals. Shine in your hearts, your life, and shine within the future of CDHA.
