About Your Student Relations Council

The Student Relations Council (Formerly SADHA) is the professional membership organization of the California Dental Hygienists' Association specifically for dental hygiene students.

Student Relations Council Goals:

  • To promote ADHA membership and conversion of Student Members to ADHA membership at graduation
  • To facilitate the administration of the Cora Ueland Scholarship
  • To promote professionalism and student research through the annual table clinic program and competition
  • To facilitate and promote participation in the regional CDHA Student Member conferences
  • To promote faculty participation in all CDHA Student Member programs/events
  • To promote student and faculty participation at the annual House of Delegates and Student House of Representatives
  • To support the selection process of the ADHA District XI student representative to the Annual Session
  • To serve as a resource for component Student Member liaisons and faculty Student Member advisors
  • To recognize student leaders in each of the Dental Hygiene programs
  • To improve and support the Student Member of the ADHA page on the CDHA website
  • To encourage networking and communication between components, schools, Student Relations Council, and CDHA

Membership:

Any student enrolled in a dental hygiene program is eligible for student membership, if the school is accredited by a national agency recognized by the Council on Post-Secondary Accreditation or the US Department of Education. California currently has 28 accredited dental hygiene schools, 3 of which are Bachelor of Science programs.

Benefits:

  • CDHA member benefits available to Student Members of ADHA.
  • Student Members invited to all Student Member activities & encouraged to actively participate and meet other student members.
  • Opportunity to meet other student members throughout the state and actively participate in member activities.
  • Local Component meetings and Student Member activities.

Dues:

  • Information packet is sent to each school.
  • Dues are collected each fall.
  • Membership applications are submitted to the ADHA Member Services Division.
  • National dues for student members are $65.00. This covers Jan. 1 through Dec. 31.
  • CDHA/Student Member Fees are $25.00. This covers Jan.1 through Dec. 31 and is submitted to Student Relations Council.

Faculty/Student Member Advisor:

Each school selects a faculty and a student representative to serve as a liaison for ADHA and CDHA. Resources for student leaders and faculty are available from CDHA and ADHA. Check both sites often for new information and resource materials!
