2008 CORA UELAND SCHOLARSHIP
Dental Hygiene Associates Incorporated (DHAI), a subsidiary organization
of the California Dental Hygienists’ Association, is pleased
to announce the sixth annual Cora Ueland Scholarship for dental
hygiene students. This scholarship was first established as a fund
in the 1950’s in the memory of Cora Ueland, founder and director
of the dental hygiene program at the University of Southern California.
Supported by individual and component donations, the fund was distributed
in recent years as a loan to eligible students. In 1998, the CDHA
Board of Trustees voted to convert the loan into a scholarship.
Two $1,000 awards will be awarded to one (1) first year and one
(1) second year student.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Student must be a member of the Student American Dental Hygienists’
Association.
- Student must be in an accredited dental hygiene program in California.
- Student must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above (4.0
scale) from the time that they have been enrolled in the dental
hygiene curriculum.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Complete the Cora
Ueland Scholarship Application Form and the Program Director Verification
Form, available in WORD form. Print and mail both forms, along
with the required essay, to:

Applications must be postmarked by
March 14, 2008.
Scholarship award recipients will be notified by mail no later
than April 15, 2008.
